From old luminaire louvres to new luminaire

TRILUX and OTTO FUCHS have developed a recycling process in which old luminaire grids are converted into new luminaire profiles without remelting. The grids are shredded, mixed with production chips, pressed into a briquette, and extruded. This results in 100% recycled aluminium with less than 0.2 kg CO₂e per kg, over 98% less than primary aluminium.
